Abdominoplasty, better known as Tummy Tuck is the procedure that removes excess skin and fat located in the abdominal walls. At the same time it contracts and flattens the abdominal muscles giving a firmer and thinner appearance.
There are three surgical techniques for an Abdominoplasty (Tummy Tuck)
Tummy Tuck Avelar Technique: removes excess skin and fat from the abdominal walls, which is removed with liposuction
Circumferential Tummy tuck: removes excess skin and fat from abdomen, waist and back.
Traditional Tummy Tuck: removes excess skin and fat in the abdominal walls.
Duration 2 to 4 hrs.
Best CandidatesMen and Women with sagging abdominal skin and/or that have lost a considerable amount of weight.
Women who have had several pregnancies.
Patients who have undergone Bariatric surgery and have lost weight.
Recovery
Restricted Activities for 2 to 3 weeks, swelling and discoloration, use of compression garment for 4 to 6 weeks.
Drains are placed for 7 days, depending of the surgical technique. Stitches removal in 15 days.
Back to work usually in 2 weeks
